Are you a motivated individual who is looking for a role where you can make a real difference in improving the local environment? Do you believe that collaboration is an effective way to enhance and protect the water environment? If so, we have a great opportunity to join our team as a Catchment Partnership Officer.
What you'll do
This is an exciting opportunity to support the Bristol Avon Catchment Partnership (BACP) and work with a wide range of stakeholders, including local authorities, regulators, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and community groups. You will work with them to deliver real benefits for the rivers and streams across the Bristol Avon catchment. The BACP is co-hosted by Wessex Water and Bristol Avon Rivers Trust and works to deliver benefits for people and nature at a catchment scale.
Within the role, you will take the lead on the communications work of the partnership, including the development and circulation of e-newsletters, and maintenance of the website and social media, while also playing a key role in organising partnership meetings and events. You will help to raise the profile of the BACP through communications projects, and events and work closely with our partner organisations and community-led groups across the catchment.
You will provide support between external catchment partners and specialist groups to help achieve the aims outlined in the catchment plan. This will include working with the partners to regularly update and report progress on the delivery of partnership projects and representing the priorities of the partnership in a variety of forums led by data and evidence. You will also be required to manage the Catchment Partnership Fund, helping to unlock funding to deliver real benefits to the river and catchment.
What you'll need
You will have great communication and organisational skills, enjoy working with people from different organisations and have a keen interest in the natural environment.
You will be confident in organising meetings and events, have experience working within the environment sector and the ability to deliver communications work.
In addition, you will have excellent writing and presentation skills and relevant qualifications, including IT knowledge (Microsoft packages).
It would also be advantageous to be a confident user of GIS.
What you'll receive
- Total pension contributions up to 20%.
- Career progression and professional development opportunities.
- 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
- The opportunity to buy up to 10 days' holiday and sell up to five every year.
- A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
- Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
- A new electric car in exchange for part of your gross salary.
- Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
- One paid volunteering day each year.
- Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
- An interactive health and wellbeing platform.
- Support from mental health first aiders.
