Are you interested in civil or environmental engineering and motivated to help reduce flooding and pollution? If so, and you are studying for a degree, we have a great placement student opportunity for you.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our Network Delivery team in the Engineering and Asset Management Department as placement students.
Within this placement, you will gain experience with state-of-the-art software and a practical understanding of sewerage infrastructure. This will be for12 months from July 2025.
What you'll do
The placement will involve:
- the high-level assessment of flooding and pollution problems
- technical report writing
- analysing data using Excel/Access
- waste asset investigations and assessments
- using Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- hydraulic analysis using computer models
- commissioning surveys of Wessex Water sewerage and waste assets.
What you'll need
We are looking for undergraduates seeking an industrial placement who are in the second year of a BEng or BSc degree course, with a strong Civils, Geography or STEM bias.
To be considered, you will:
- be proficient in maths and science
- have good report-writing skills
- be computer literate, organised and able to prioritise workloads to meet targets
- have good communication skills
- be keen to learn and develop on the job.
Located at our award-winning office in Bath, this position offers the chance to gain an in-depth knowledge of the water industry. You will also be given the appropriate training needed to perform the role.
