Are you looking for a new career and enjoy solving problems? If so we have an exciting opportunity to join the team at Ratfyn.

The position offers an opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team working with a variety of equipment, assets and processes. You will have the opportunity to embrace curiosity and develop new skills outside of your normal day-to-day activities.

What you'll do

Every day is different. You will be working in all weather conditions, carrying out a range of tasks, to ensure the essential functions of our Bioresource treatment centre.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • managing raw cake imports
  • helping maximise processing by ensuring materials are moved efficiently and safely
  • keeping the bunker area tidy, well‑organised, and preventing it from overflowing into surrounding areas
  • using the telehandler (training provided if needed) to load the hopper regularly to maintain steady processing
  • carrying out general site support activities as required to keep operations running smoothly
  • looking for ways to improve day‑to‑day performance and efficiency, raising ideas with the team
  • communicating with other teams about Cake Bay capacity and daily performance
  • ensuring full compliance with company policies, processes, and procedures
  • promoting and upholding the health, safety, and welfare of all colleagues, visitors, the public, and yourself at all times.

You will work a 9-hour day shift pattern of Monday-Friday. Your working hours may sometimes include weekends and evening duties, and providing emergency cover if required.

What you'll need

You don't need a background in the water industry, and we welcome applications from candidates outside of the sector, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas.

We are looking for people who demonstrate a positive outlook and behaviours, who can work under their own initiative, both unsupervised and within a team environment.

We are looking for problem solvers and people who are keen to make a positive impact by looking for ways to help us work more efficiently and effectively.

You will need to have a flexible approach, with the ability to react quickly and efficiently to changes on any given day or over the course of the job role. If this sounds like you, then we'd love to hear from you!

You'll also:

  • be hard working and enthusiastic to learn new skills and processes
  • enjoy working outdoors in all conditions
  • have good communication skills
  • have a valid full UK manual driving licence
  • have a can-do attitude and a flexible approach
  • be comfortable working with sewage
  • be willing to undertake mandatory and upskilling training.

It would be advantageous if you held a telehandler licence, but full training is provided.

What you'll receive

  • A company van for business use
  • Total pension contributions up to 20%.
  • Career progression and professional development opportunities.
  • 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
  • The opportunity to buy up to 10 days' holiday and sell up to five every year.
  • A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
  • Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
  • A new electric car in exchange for part of your gross salary.
  • Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
  • One paid volunteering day each year.
  • Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
  • An interactive health and wellbeing platform.
  • Support from mental health first aiders.
  • A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone to work for us.
