We are currently transforming the historic former Filton Airfield – the birthplace of Concorde and supersonic travel – into a thriving new neighbourhood for Bristol, known as Brabazon.
Join our team and inspect and monitor infrastructure works, ensuring roads, sewers, services and landscaping are delivered safely, efficiently and to adoptable standards.
What you'll do
You'll oversee the delivery of infrastructure works on site, acting as the eyes and ears of the client.
You'll inspect workmanship, monitor health and safety standards and identify any issues that could affect quality or compliance.
Through regular reporting and collaboration with contractors and project teams, you will help ensure works are completed to the required adoptable standards.
Other duties will include:
- providing independent inspection and oversight of infrastructure works, advising contractors where workmanship, quality or compliance falls below required standards
- monitoring progress against programme, maintaining accurate site records, reports and documentation, while identifying and escalating risks that could impact delivery
- ensuring all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, statutory requirements and adoptable standards, including S278, S38, S106, S102 and S104 agreements
- building effective relationships with project teams, contractors, clients and adopting authorities to support the successful delivery and adoption of completed works
- promoting best practice in health and safety, quality assurance and risk management, contributing to continuous improvement across project delivery
- maintaining a professional and client-focused approach, keeping up to date with industry developments, legislation and construction best practices.
What you'll need
- Demonstrable experience in the delivery and inspection of infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of DNO/IDNO requirements and NJUG standards.
- Strong understanding of adoptable highways, drainage, utilities and public open space infrastructure, including liaison with adopting authorities.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to accurately monitor, inspect and record contractor activities.
- Technically competent, with sound judgement and the confidence to challenge, negotiate and resolve issues where required.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively, prioritising workloads effectively.
- Capable of undertaking site inspections and supervising works on-site for extended periods when required.
- A valid CSCS card (or equivalent) and an NVQ Level 4 in Site Inspection, relevant HNC/HND or equivalent qualification.
- NRSWA accreditation for highway construction works would be advantageous.
- Professional, self-motivated and flexible, consistently demonstrating the values and standards expected by the YTL Group.
What you'll receive
- A combined pension contribution of up to 20%.
- Career progression and professional development opportunities.
- 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
- The opportunity to sell up to five days of holiday every year.

- Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
- The opportunity to lease a new electric car through salary sacrifice (subject to conditions).
- Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
- One paid volunteering day each year.
