Our award-winning compost & aggregate facility in Avonmouth, provides cost-effective and sustainable waste solutions not only internally, but to the wider water and waste industries.
What you'll do
Based on site at Avonmouth within our Environmental permitted Compost and aggregate facility, as a composting technician you will lead and optimise day-to-day operations. This will include:
- Manage the compost pad and the grit buster to operational standards.
- To take and keep records of temperatures and moisture content of composting rows to achieve required results
- Control imports into the composting and aggregate facilities to not contravene the E.A. permit
- Receive and keep records of expected imports into the composting facility.
- Take samples of imports as per training and instruction to maintain E.A. permit.
- Carry out site inspections and site checks to high standards.
- Driving and completing routine maintenance on plant equipment and upkeeping competency for them
- Carry out vehicle & Trailer daily checks & report defects
You will be required to work closely with other areas of the business such as logistics and wider site activities.
The position offered is on a full-time basis, 45 hours Monday to Friday 07:00 – 16:00
What you'll need
The role is ideal for someone who has an interest within this industry or is looking to start a career in sustainability, ability to manage time effectively, have a good eye for detail, excellent customer service skills, and be confident liaising within a range of contacts internally and externally.
- Previous experience in waste management a bonus
- Ability to arrange own time to cover various activities
- Sound communication skills including logging data withing Microsoft office
- Ability to drive and operate plant equipment
