Wessex Water are looking for a qualified teacher to join our very popular Education Service as part of our Community Engagement team.

This would be a part-time role, working 3 days a week (24 hours per week) both in term time and school holidays.

What you'll do

You will:

  • deliver STEM workshops, mainly in Dorset schools, although would also involve engagements across the whole Wessex Water region
  • host school and adult groups at our Education Centres, particularly at Holdenhurst Water Recycling Centre in Bournemouth
  • attend other educational and public events to engage with customers, to help them understand how Wessex Water operate to supply clean water and treat wastewater.

What you'll need

We are looking for:

  • qualified Teacher Status
  • strong understanding of safeguarding issues and enhanced DBS check
  • total commitment, concern and empathy for pupils' safety and welfare, including awareness of regulatory and legal requirements
  • excellent teaching and communication skills
  • experience in delivering STEM activities
  • experience in leading school visits
  • excellent organisational skills to plan all aspects of a site or school visit
  • a full clean driving licence
  • First Aid qualification (training can be provided).

The role will include either a car allowance, a company car or mileage allowance for travel.
