You will:

  • have experience in senior process safety management roles
  • demonstrate strong process safety expertise, with extensive experience applying engineering and operational systems management within high-hazard, COMAH-regulated industries, such as oil and gas
  • possess a thorough understanding of Process Safety management and COMAH regulations, with proven deployment competence in specialist areas such as risk assessment, LOPA, SIL, OBRA, MoC, human factors and emergency preparedness
  • have the ability to chair/facilitate PHAs and risk assessments, with solid knowledge of HazID, HazOp, Bow‑Tie analysis and barrier/lines‑of‑defence management
  • understand process‑industry operations and business environments sufficiently to advise on effective process safety management deployment strategies
  • fully understand the management of change principles and support the effective implementation of our MoC policy and procedures across high-hazard facilities
  • be capable of analysing complex problems, interpreting probability and risk and conducting detailed investigations
  • exhibit strong communication, interpersonal and people‑development skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders positively
  • demonstrate deep professional competence in process safety management systems and their effective deployment
  • manage Process Safety teams in upper or lower tier COMAH facilities
  • develop and deliver process safety standards, procedures and training programmes
  • establish and maintaining process safety performance reporting (PSPIs)
  • engage with the COMAH competent authority
  • be a degree-qualified professional, ideally in chemical, process engineering or other engineering discipline (chartered status is preferred).
