Are you Looking for a HGV/HIAB driving role? If so, we are currently recruiting for a HGV Grab Driver to support our construction teams with the safe collection of goods and equipment from sites across our wonderfully scenic region.

What you'll do

As the HGV Grab Driver, you'll frequently be travelling across Taunton, Minehead, Bridgwater and everywhere in between, where you will be delivering aggregate materials where our construction teams are operating.

In this role, you'll perform regular safety inspections on your vehicle and HIAB equipment to ensure everything is fully functional and safe.

Along with performing safety checks and driving your vehicle, you'll load and unload aggregate materials to the necessary sites and provide support to construction teams, as and when required.

As this role is going to involve driving across the region, you'll need to know your roads, as you'll be involved in planning your journey with the Area Controller to ensure it is the most efficient route available.

What you'll need

To be successful, you'll have sound knowledge and experience using HIAB/HGV vehicles.

You will take pride in making sure your vehicle is always maintained and clean, while also being health and safety-focused.

You'll have excellent communication skills and ideally hold a street work accreditation, hygiene card and ALMI or NPORS qualification or equivalent.

Due to the nature of the role, you'll need to possess a valid driving licence and a HGV licence with a driver card.

 What you'll receive

  • A combined pension contribution of up to 20%.
  • Career progression and professional development opportunities.
  • 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
  • The opportunity to sell up to five days of holiday every year.
  • The opportunity to buy up to ten days of holiday each year (subject to conditions).
  • A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
  • Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
  • The opportunity to lease a new electric car through salary sacrifice (subject to conditions).
  • Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
  • One paid volunteering day each year.
  • Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
  • Access to an interactive health and wellbeing platform.
  • Support from trained mental health first aiders.
  • A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone who is successfully recruited by us.
