Management Accountant

As our new Management Accountant, you will provide high-quality management accounting information and proactive advice to the Directors of Supply and Environment, Customer and Compliance, and their management teams.

Your support will enable them to manage their business in an efficient and effective manner and ensure a consistent approach across the Wessex Water group on policies and procedures.

This is a 1-year fixed-term contract.

What you'll do

You will:

• monitor and report on the financial performance of the business functions
• work on the construction of annual financial budgets and quarterly financial forecasts for operational costs
• develop the financial reporting
• ensure accurate financial accounts and data are updated monthly
• provide financial data for business reviews
• act as the finance representative on the business functions leadership team
• prepare regulatory reporting where applicable
• liaise with External Auditors
• assist business unit managers in identifying areas of potential savings/operational efficiency
• collaborate in deciding the strategic direction of the business units in achieving corporate targets.

What you'll need

In this role, we are looking for:

• chartered membership of a relevant professional body (eg, ACCA/CIMA)
• relevant experience
• high level of PC literacy (eg, Excel VBA/Access)
• an effective communicator at all levels
• project management skills
• sound communication skills (including report writing).
