Pump Service Manager .

Are you interested in joining our team at the regional workshop where we provide pumping solutions? Do you believe you can work effectively in an engineering environment? If so, we are currently seeking a Pump Service Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract.

What you'll do 

The role requires delivering outstanding customer service to our SPS and EM&I teams concerning all their pumping needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • booking and prioritising repairs
  • procuring new pumps and spare parts
  • providing service exchange units from our extensive workshop inventory 
  • organising two 7.5-ton delivery lorries for transportation and lift jobs while the manager is out of the office or on leave.

This position is office-based at our regional workshop in Weston-super-Mare, but occasional site visits and on-site work may be required.

What you'll need 

You will possess an excellent knowledge of pumps and pumping systems, including various types from different manufacturers, and will have a strong understanding of efficiency. 

You should have experience working with and maintaining similar equipment to support the technical services we provide, including assisting team members over the phone. 

You will also have

  • an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering or electrical discipline
  • fresh ideas of how we can maintain and improve our existing offering
  • the ability to work well within a team and provide cover when other office colleagues are on leave
  • project experience in a project delivery-focused planning or environmental role
  • a good working knowledge of UK EIA and planning legislation
  • experience in pre-planning consultation and preparing planning applications, including the preparation of supporting environmental information
  • knowledge of environmental good practices during construction, including pollution prevention planning
  • excellent communication/negotiation skills with colleagues, technical specialists, external organisations and the public
  • a high level of organisational skills and the ability to manage own projects, workload and deadlines
  • a relevant degree in an environmental or similar related subject and membership (or working towards membership) of a relevant Professional Institution
  • good IT skills
  • a full UK driving licence (and access to a car for work purposes).
