Shape the decisions that build YTL UK's future talent today!
Great talent management is not about creating another programme or producing a succession chart that is revisited once a year. It is about helping leaders make fair, informed and forward-looking decisions about the people and capability their businesses will need in the future, and ensuring those decisions create meaningful opportunities for growth and development.
We are looking for a Talent & Performance Manager to guide this work across YTL UK. You will help create a clear and trusted approach to identifying talent, strengthening succession and supporting high-quality performance conversations across a diverse Group. The role will help senior leaders understand where talent exists, where opportunities and risks may emerge, and what actions will have the greatest positive impact.
What you'll do
- Establish a consistent, evidence-based approach to talent identification, with clear distinctions between performance, future potential, critical capability and readiness.
- Facilitate Group talent reviews and calibration discussions, creating an environment for open dialogue, balanced decision-making and shared ownership of agreed actions.
- Build inclusive and diverse succession pipelines for leadership, specialist and business-critical roles, helping to make readiness, gaps and risks visible.
- Translate talent decisions into meaningful development opportunities through coaching, mentoring, sponsorship, mobility, stretch experiences and cross-business exposure.
- Continuously strengthen the Group Performance Framework, helping managers set clear expectations, provide constructive feedback, recognise contribution and support improved performance.
- Create practical career pathways and internal mobility frameworks that connect roles, skills, development and progression.
- Use talent and performance insight to understand pipeline health, succession coverage, readiness, movement, retention and the impact of investment.
- Develop and support a specialist team whilst working collaboratively across organisational boundaries to connect talent, performance, careers inspiration, inclusion and wellbeing with wider workforce priorities.
What you'll bring
You will bring significant experience of talent management, succession planning and performance practice within a complex organisation. You will understand how to distinguish between performance, potential and readiness, and how to design approaches that are fair, inclusive and valuable to both employees and the business.
Just as importantly, you will be confident facilitating conversations where perspectives differ and important decisions need to be made. You will build strong relationships with senior leaders, support high-quality talent discussions and translate complex insight into clear priorities and practical action. You will combine strategic thinking with the judgement, empathy and adaptability needed to embed a new approach across businesses with different needs and starting points.
Why this role matters
YTL UK includes businesses with different operating environments, workforce pressures and capability needs. This role helps bring those perspectives together, providing a Group-wide view of the talent needed for the future, the strength of our pipelines and the quality of the decisions being made today.
You will have the opportunity to create a lasting impact, helping to build a shared approach to identifying, developing, deploying and retaining talent across the Group. By making opportunity more visible, supporting inclusive decision-making and strengthening capability for the future, you will help ensure our people and our businesses can thrive.
If you are motivated by helping people fulfil their potential, supporting leaders to make informed decisions and creating opportunities for future success, we would love to hear from you.
What you'll receive
- A combined pension contribution of up to 20%.
- Career progression and professional development opportunities.
- 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
- The opportunity to sell up to five days of holiday every year.
- The opportunity to buy up to ten days of holiday each year (subject to conditions).
- A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
- Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
- The opportunity to lease a new electric car through salary sacrifice (subject to conditions).
- Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
- One paid volunteering day each year.
- Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
- Access to an interactive health and wellbeing platform.
- Support from trained mental health first aiders.
- A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone who is successfully recruited by us.
