What you'll do
Working in both the Supply Sampling and Water Fittings teams, you will work collaboratively to help protect public health and ensure that the water being supplied to our customers is safe and clean.
A key activity for all teams in our department is to ensure compliance with legislation. As advocates of public health, we are thoroughly passionate and dedicated to the service we provide to the wider drinking water side of our business.
You will have a varied and busy role dealing with supporting all administrative aspects of the drinking water supply.
This will include:
- liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- monitoring and maintaining procedures and policies which implement compliance with Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2016
- reporting for quality assurance of sampling programme and operational sample programmes (for example, missed sample lists)
- scheduling operational and ad hoc samples
- supporting the user acceptance testing and implementation of the new LIMS system, and the introduction of a new remote sampling application
- support technical administration team for Water fittings (Regulations team), including customer liaison and issuing of reports.
What you'll need
You will:
- be able to work in an environment which is responsive to changing business needs
- be a great team player and communicator
- be able to schedule work for team members, arrange appointments and liaise with customers
- have a can-do attitude and be good at problem-solving and following procedures
- be comfortable working with a variety of internal stakeholders and teams
- learn or be able to interpret water quality legislation to ensure all activities comply
- be numerate, literate and have good written skills
- have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
If you have any familiarity with GIS, databases, laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or scheduling software, this would be an advantage.
Due to the nature of this role, you will ideally need to hold a valid full UK driving licence
