Asset Reliability Technician

We're looking for a proactive and analytical Asset Reliability Technician to join our Water Recycling team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in improving the reliability and performance of critical wastewater assets across our West region, including Taunton, Yeovil, Weston-super-Mare and surrounding areas. A company vehicle will be provided for business travel, and a full UK driving licence is required. 

Working closely with operational and maintenance teams, you'll use data, asset information and site-based investigations to identify trends, solve problems and support maintenance and investment decisions. This is a varied opportunity to make a real impact on essential infrastructure, environmental performance and customer service, while developing your career within a specialist area of the business.  

What you'll do

As an Asset Reliability Technician, you'll support the ongoing performance and reliability of our wastewater assets by turning data and operational insight into practical improvements. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

• analysing asset performance and maintenance data to identify trends, recurring issues and opportunities for improvement
• supporting decisions on where future maintenance activity and capital investment should be focused
• working with operational, maintenance and EM&I colleagues to understand asset issues and develop effective solutions
• reviewing equipment failure information and job feedback to reduce repeat issues and improve asset reliability
• supporting the development of planned and cyclical maintenance programmes
• improving the quality and accuracy of asset information to support better decision-making
• visiting sites to understand asset performance first-hand and validate findings from data analysis
• contributing to a consistent approach to asset reliability and continuous improvement across the region. 

What you'll need

We're looking for someone with a technical mindset and a genuine interest in understanding how assets perform and how they can be improved. 

You'll ideally have: 

• strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• confidence working with data and using Excel
• a mechanical or electrical understanding gained through work experience, qualifications or a technical background
• the ability to identify patterns, investigate issues and make evidence-based recommendations
• excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with a wide range of colleagues
• good organisation and time management skills. 

Experience within the water industry would be beneficial, but it's not essential.
