We are looking for two Assistant CAD Technicians to take on key roles in the delivery of the Design and Build AMP8 Networks Programme.
You'll work with a wider CAD team to produce drawings for the Wastewater Infrastructure Design team, as well as supporting the wider business as required.
You will be supported and trained to produce high-quality engineering drawings to industry and in-house standards.
What you'll do
As an Assistant CAD Technician, you will be mentored to use AutoCAD and similar CAD packages to produce a wide range of high-quality engineering drawings to facilitate the construction of new assets.
This will include:
- construction packs
- planning applications
- land entry plans
- site Investigation drawings.
You will work closely with the Design team, ensuring that all incoming work is registered, acknowledged and undertaken to programme. You will also manage the issuing of drawings and associated registers to all interested parties in a timely and auditable manner using our internal drawing management systems.
A key part of your role will be to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders and seek the required information to complete the drawings.
What you'll need
To undertake the role, you'll have a good general education with a minimum of five GCSEs. We are also happy to support in-role learning and development, supporting the right candidate with our in-house experienced professionals to achieve a wide range of college and university qualifications, and we can also provide mentorship under the ICE and CIWEM chartership schemes.
You'll ideally have:
- an interest in design, engineering and draughting
- previous experience using CAD software, preferably Autodesk AutoCAD or similar 2D draughting packages
- experience producing or using technical drawings
- good attention to detail and accuracy
- good visualisation skills
- the ability to communicate effectively (essential)
- good PC skills and experience in the use of Microsoft Office
- experience using GIS software.
You will be based at the Operations Centre in Bath. A driving licence is not essential, but is preferred to facilitate visits to other offices or construction sites if required.
