Are you practical, curious and keen to learn new skills? Do you enjoy solving problems and want a career where no two days are the same?

We're looking for an Apprentice Bioresources Operator to join our team at Trowbridge. As part of this role, you'll work towards the Level 2 Water Process Operative (Water Recycling) Apprenticeship, delivered by YTL Academy.

This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining valuable qualifications and hands-on experience while helping to run a key site that supports essential services for our communities. You'll be supported by experienced colleagues and will learn how to operate, monitor and maintain a wide range of equipment, systems and processes. As your confidence grows, you'll take on more responsibility and build the skills needed for a long-term career in the water industry.

What you'll do

On completion of this apprenticeship, you will be able to:

  • operate and monitor water treatment processes to help deliver safe, reliable services
  • take samples and carry out tests to ensure water quality standards are met
  • use digital systems to monitor performance and respond to operational issues
  • inspect, maintain and troubleshoot equipment to keep operations running smoothly
  • follow health, safety and environmental procedures to protect people and the environment
  • record and interpret operational data to support effective decision-making
  • work as part of a team to provide an essential service to customers and communities.

This is an active, hands-on role where you'll spend time working outdoors in all weather conditions while developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to become a qualified Bioresources Operator.

What you'll need

You don't need previous experience in the water industry. We're interested in your attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. If you currently do not hold a driving license, YTL UK will cover the cost of your driving lessons.

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • enjoy practical work and solving problems
  • are keen to learn new skills and gain qualifications
  • can work well independently and as part of a team
  • have a positive attitude and are willing to get involved
  • are reliable and able to adapt to changing situations
  • have good communication skills
  • are comfortable working outdoors and in an industrial environment
  • are comfortable working with wastewater and sewage treatment processes.
