This a great opportunity to join our Early Careers Team who are responsible for managing apprenticeships, work experience and graduate recruitment for the business.

What you'll do

As a Careers Assistant, you will work in our Early Careers Team, who are nationally recognised for its quality of service, successes in the early careers sector, and most of all innovation. They support the business with recruiting talent for our apprenticeship programmes often straight out of education and develop existing staff to reach their potential. They engage schools across our region, working closely with colleges & universities delivering our training. Their success is defined by the career achievements of others.

Day-to-day duties will include:

  • providing administrative support for all Early Careers programmes
  • coordinating applications, interviews, and assessments by planning diaries, booking rooms, and communicating with managers and candidates
  • collaborating with external partners such as local colleges
  • organising open days to showcase to potential new employees what it's like to work for the business and the training & development opportunities
  • maintaining systems and ensuring data and information is complete and correct
  • onboarding all new starters including managing HR paperwork, ordering technical equipment and uniforms
  • organising initial enrolment days and supporting with induction programmes
  • archiving documents securely and ensuring records are accurately maintained
  • responding to general enquiries and requests for information
  • liaising with and influencing all levels of management to agree a change of direction or new process
  • assisting with the wider administrative needs of the team, including the collation and interpretation of data.

What you'll need

We are looking for an organised, proactive, enthusiastic, confident, and self-motivated individual who can share the vision, values, and work of our business.

Ideally, you will have:

  • excellent written communication skills
  • a commitment to helping a team work well together
  • empathy and the ability to use suitable forms of communication when corresponding with internal and external customers
  • a record of dependability and the ability to take responsibility for tasks once they have been properly delegated
  • confidence and proficiency using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
