We are seeking an enthusiastic Data Analyst to join our ever-growing IT Applications team!
You will be part of the Data and Reporting team helping to set and drive standards for data analysis in IT Applications.
This role offers a hybrid of office and home working (the option to work part of your week from home becomes available after completion of an initial training period). You will need to be located within a commutable distance from our Claverton Down, Bath office as being able to work collaboratively with our business stakeholders and project teams is key to this role
What you'll do
In this role, you will:
- provide clear documentation to support the development of databases/stores, data migration processes, and integration processes.
- understand complex data structures and processes, identify potential issues, and recommend resolution.
- help expand and evolve our cloud data storage and analytics platform.
- responsible for the specification and documentation of data migrations and integrations.
- lead in data mapping activities between incumbent and new systems.
- provide gap analysis.
- work with the data architect to interpret data models to produce data mapping for development purposes.
- work alongside DBAs, BAs, Data Developers, and the Program team to support the efficient migration of data throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- document all work by the agreed format and standards for subsequent review and sign-off.
- identify risks and issues with suggested mitigating actions.
- ensure that solution design and approach adhere to company security standards.
What you'll need
- The ability to analyse, model, and interpret data.
- Experience working with large data sets and relational databases.
- Experience working on large/complex programmes involving multiple data migrations and integrations.
- Good communication skills.
- Good team skills working in collaboration at a highly technical level with colleagues, IT partners, and IT consultants.
Technical skills
- RDBMS used: Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and above.
- SQL Server Components: SQL Engine and SSRS.
- Transact-SQL: Complex queries, stored procedures, views and functions.
- Development Tools: Report Builder and Visual Studio.
- Source Control Team Foundation Server (legacy) and Azure Dev Ops.
- Cloud: Azure SQL PaaS, Data Factories, Synapse, Stream Analytics, Data Explorer.
- Languages: T-SQL (some exposure to Python and/or R would be advantageous).
- Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Experience and Finance Products is preferable.
