As our new Technical Architect, you will provide comprehensive guidance and technical design for the development and modification of Microsoft Dynamics solutions, business services and components at Wessex Water.
You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop solutions, arriving at agreed-upon technical designs that fully leverage native Dynamics capabilities to meet business requirements. Outputs will cover elements such as integration design, data modelling, and technical solution design. The successful candidate will provide input to all aspects of the IT organisation on the Microsoft Dynamics product suite, and specifically the capabilities of Dynamics for Field Service.
What you'll do
As the Technical Architect, you will:
- liaise between customers, analysts, architects, developers, operations, project and programme managers and other stakeholders
- produce architectural designs, diagrams, and documentation, and you will lead the successful enterprise‑scale operational implementation and adoption of those designs
- assess and quantify the risks associated with design decisions and communicate those risks with the relevant parties, and the mitigations found
- have a deep understanding of the technology and functionality within the Dynamics Platform that can be leveraged by Wessex Water, covering standards, features and supplemental/connected products that could be exploited.
You will be responsible for producing and reviewing designs which focus on aspects such as:
- compatibility with current and future business strategy
- integration with existing systems
- support of business processes, including usability and performance
- ease of maintenance
- compliance with Wessex Water's ISO 27001 Certified Security Standards
- compliance with legal and regulatory regimes, i.e. GDPR
- compatibility with company DR and infrastructure standards, taking due account of non-functional requirements.
What you'll need
You will need:
- experience with Microsoft Dynamics Field Service, Customer Services, and Enterprise Asset Management
- knowledge of the Microsoft D365 application stack
- significant experience in systems design and development methodologies (focus on reuse, maintainability and supportable design), with desired experience in mobile development technologies
- some knowledge of architecture best practice methodologies, with experience of using modelling tools
- to be familiar with software development lifecycles, service management processes (e.g. ITIL) and information security best practices.
Understanding and solution design experience of technologies, including, but not restricted to, solutions such as:
- Microsoft Dynamics Field Services
- Microsoft Dynamics Field Services Mobile
- Microsoft Dynamics Customer Engagement Platform
- Microsoft Dynamics Supply Chain Management & Enterprise Asset Management
- Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations
- Microsoft Power Platform
- Microsoft Azure
- Common integration methodologies (Logic Apps, Biztalk, Scribe, Power Automate)
- Microsoft Collaboration Platforms (Office365, SharePoint)
- ISO 27001 – Information Security Standard.
