Are you a graduate with a STEM degree who is motivated to help reduce flooding and pollution? Do you have an interest in Sustainable Urban Drainage? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to further your career as a Graduate Engineer.
We are expanding and looking for enthusiastic graduates to join our dynamic, forward-thinking high-level assessment team
What you'll do
Working within the Network Delivery team in the Engineering and Asset Management Department, you will undertake investigations and project delivery work under the guidance of senior engineers.
The work involves:
- high-level assessments of flooding due to inadequate hydraulic capacity and root cause analysis of pollution incidents
- investigating inflow and infiltration into the sewerage network
- concept design for Sustainable urban Drainage Solutions (SuDS)
- partnership working with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- commissioning surveys of Wessex Water sewerage and waste assets
- analysing data using Excel/Access
- using Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- hydraulic analysis using computer models
- technical report writing and project presentation
What you'll need
- a relevant degree in an engineering, science or mathematical based subject
- excellent IT and communication skills
- experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs
- the ability to prioritise workloads to meet targets
- experience of hydraulic modelling Software (InfoWorks ICM) and GIS would be beneficial
