The HR Delivery Manager is a senior strategic delivery role as a trusted partner to the HR director. This role exists to turn people strategy into clear priorities, disciplined execution and measurable impact across the business.
This newly created position is designed to strengthen pace, structure and accountability across the function. You will play a critical role in shaping and delivering HR transformation, ensuring initiatives are not only implemented but are delivering strategic value over time.
Working closely with the HR Director and HR Leadership Team (HRLT), you will align HR activities with the business's needs, provide clarity on progress and risks and ensure work is delivered to plan, to quality and with demonstrable outcomes.
What you'll do
You will operate as a chief-of-staff-style leader for the HR function, combining strategic insight with hands-on delivery leadership.
In this role, you will:
- act as a trusted partner to the HR Director, providing insight, constructive challenge and execution leadership
- shape and maintain the HR strategic roadmap, translating priorities into sequenced, deliverable plans
- own the end-to-end delivery of the HR plan and HR transformation programme
- advise on large-scale change, transformation sequencing and organisational readiness
- translate strategy into clear workplans with milestones, owners and outcomes
- anticipate and actively manage risks, dependencies and delivery pressure points
- ensure initiatives move beyond implementation to sustained adoption and measurable impact
- establish a strong HR operating rhythm, including planning cycles, reviews and leadership forums
- enable effective decision-making through clear agendas, high-quality papers and disciplined follow-through
- improve cross-team coordination and lead continuous improvement and standardisation across HR
- act as a central coordination point between HR, the business and corporate functions
- define success measures, track benefits realisation and provide clear performance insight
- build concise dashboards and senior-level updates using data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- lead HR input into corporate governance, regulatory activity and statutory reporting, including Annual Report and Accounts
- prepare and assure HR papers for Executive, Board and Committee meetings
- provide day-to-day oversight of the HR budget, partnering with Finance on planning, forecasting and financial governance.
What you'll need
- Proven experience in HR transformation, HR operations, programme delivery, or similar roles.
- Strong understanding of HR functions, people processes and change management.
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into executable plans and deliver outcomes.
- Strong planning, prioritisation and risk/dependency management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including senior-level papers.
- Confident stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity with a pragmatic, action-oriented approach.
- Experience in roles such as Chief of Staff, PMO Lead or senior HR leadership.
- Continuous improvement / Lean experience.
- Exposure to HR systems or digital transformation.
- Experience in complex or regulated environments.
