We are looking for a Junior Facilities Manager to support the delivery of facilities management, maintenance, compliance and workplace services across YTL Developments occupied buildings and operational assets.
Brabazon is transforming the former Filton Airfield into a new neighbourhood for Bristol, with more than 6,500 new homes, creative workplaces, a vibrant town centre, community facilities, and landscaped public squares and parks.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy Estates and Property team helping to deliver high-quality services across a diverse and evolving portfolio.
The role offers a unique opportunity to work across established operational facilities, support the ongoing development of the airfield and contribute to the management of completed estate areas.
What you'll do
- Support the Estates Operations Manager in the delivery of facilities management, coordinate contractor-led maintenance, statutory compliance activities and small facilities projects across the operational estate.
- Provide operational support to the Property Manager in the management of YTL's completed property portfolio.
- Manage contractors from procurement and RAMS review through to site delivery, performance monitoring and completion, addressing issues and escalating where necessary.
- Carry out property and asset inspections and compliance checks, identifying maintenance defects, compliance risks and improvement opportunities, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Support the delivery of reactive repairs, maintenance, compliance and property improvement projects, including preparing scopes of work, obtaining quotations, coordinating contractors and monitoring progress.
- Assist with the day-to-day management of YTL's property portfolio, including occupier matters, property inspections, handovers, defect management and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate statutory inspections, certification, utility management and facilities records, ensuring compliance information remains accurate and up to date.
- Build effective relationships with landlords, managing agents, contractors, occupiers and stakeholders, resolving issues and supporting positive customer service.
- Provide operational support to the Estates and Property team, including reporting, tenant liaison, event coordination and hands-on assistance where required.
- Promote a positive health, safety and compliance culture, challenging unsafe practices and supporting adherence to lease obligations, estate regulations and company standards.
What you'll need
- Experience in facilities, property or estate management, including contractor management, maintenance coordination and building operations.
- Good understanding of statutory compliance, health and safety legislation, risk assessments, planned and reactive maintenance, and property management best practice.
- Strong organisational, administrative and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and build effective relationships with occupiers, tenants, contractors and colleagues.
- Practical, proactive and resilient approach, with excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Professional qualification in Facilities Management, Property Management, Building Services or Estate Management (or working towards).
- IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH General Certificate or SMSTS.
- A full UK driving licence.
What you'll receive
- A combined pension contribution of up to 20%.
- Career progression and professional development opportunities.
- 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
- The opportunity to sell up to five days of holiday every year.
- The opportunity to buy up to ten days of holiday each year (subject to conditions).
- A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
- Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
- The opportunity to lease a new electric car through salary sacrifice (subject to conditions).
- Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
- One paid volunteering day each year.
- Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
- Access to an interactive health and wellbeing platform.
- Support from trained mental health first aiders.
- A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone who is successfully recruited by us.
