We are looking for an experienced surveyor who can bring a breadth of rural land management and landlord and tenant experience to our Land Entry team.
Are you a confident communicator and organised? Do you have the necessary interpersonal skills to interact with our customers and colleagues? If so, we have a great opportunity for you as a Land Entry Surveyor.
What you'll do
You will report directly to the Land Entry Manager and play a key role in delivering the Smart Waters project.
This position will focus on negotiating and securing permissions to access private land for the installation of continuous water monitoring equipment.
They will be the principal point of landowner liaison and required to oversee the smooth coordination with landowners and stakeholders to support project delivery.
You will:
- provide technical advice and assistance to the Smart Waters team relating to land entry
- negotiate and secure legal agreements necessary to formalise water quality monitors
- liaise with and provide instructions to the legal team for land purchase, deeds of easement, leases and licences
- attend site meetings with landowners, occupiers and their professional representatives to discuss how our works will affect their land and agree on appropriate accommodation or mitigation measures to reduce the impact upon them
- ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for land access
- agree on compensation claims and land reinstatement arising from our works.
What you'll need
You will have:
- excellent negotiation and customer care skills, with previous working experience in agreeing land rights, negotiating leases/wayleaves and settling compensation claims
- a detailed understanding and knowledge of rural land management, landlord and tenant, and agricultural practices
- the ability to coordinate others while remaining calm under pressure
- strong abilities as a team player who has previous experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
You will also need a full UK driving licence.
