We are seeking an OSB Project Engineer with a strong practical engineering and production background who can turn project designs into safe, efficient and buildable manufacturing solutions. The role will work closely with workshop teams and take technical responsibility for work packages from design review through manufacture, inspection, documentation and handover.
What you'll do
Working across 5 main areas, you'll be resposible for:
- Production / manufacturing: Experience within a workshop, factory, fabrication or assembly environment, with a good understanding of build sequence, labour, materials, quality and programme.
- Engineering: Practical mechanical, electrical, building services, fabrication, process or multidisciplinary engineering experience.
- Design for Manufacture: Able to review designs, identify buildability issues and produce clear manufacturing information, drawings and bills of materials.
- Technical coordination: Comfortable working across design, procurement, suppliers, production and project teams to resolve issues and maintain cost, quality and programme.
- Quality & compliance: Experience with inspection, testing, defect resolution, change control and manufacturing/handover documentation.
You will:
- Produce and coordinate manufacturing documentation, including drawings, BOMs and quality records.
- Lead design-for-manufacture reviews, resolving buildability and technical issues.
- Act as the technical liaison between design, production, suppliers and project teams.
- Coordinate approvals, RFIs, testing, inspections and certification activities.
- Support delivery of OSB work packages, managing technical inputs, risks, costs, quality and programme requirements.
- Review project designs and specifications, identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Provide technical support for procurement and supplier coordination.
- Manage technical documentation, change control, as-built records and handover information.
- Monitor quality throughout manufacture, ensuring defects and corrective actions are closed out.
- Contribute to project reporting, progress reviews and operational documentation, including O&M manuals and project closeout records.
What you'll need
- Degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering is preferable.
- 3+ years' experience in design, manufacturing, or project engineering.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), and document platforms like ACC.
- Knowledge of prefabrication, DFMA, and water industry engineering standards.
- Practical understanding of manufacturing constraints and installation considerations.
- Proactive communicator with attention to detail
- The ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
- A willingness to adapt and respond to changes in the workplace
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite
- The following training would be desirable - First Aider & Mental Health First Aider
