We're looking for a dynamic and driven Project Manager to drive performance improvement across our sewerage pumping stations and network assets. This role is centred on delivering energy efficiency, reliability, and optimisation outcomes through a structured programme of improvement works.
You'll lead projects focused on reducing power consumption through optimised pump selection and system operation, enhancing site control strategies, delivering rising main cleaning programmes, and embedding condition monitoring approaches—ensuring our assets operate at optimal performance while supporting environmental and cost-efficiency targets.
Please note this is a 12 month fixed term or secondment opportunity.
What you'll do
- Lead multiple optimisation projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring clear milestones are achieved and measurable performance improvements are realised.
- Lead the development and delivery of rising main cleaning and optimisation programmes, improving hydraulic performance and network efficiency.
- Develop and present project proposals focused on pumping station and network optimisation, targeting energy efficiency, reliability, and operational performance.
- Deliver initiatives to reduce power consumption through optimised pump selection, improved system operation, and effective control strategies across SPS assets.
- Embed condition monitoring approaches to improve asset visibility, enable proactive maintenance, and reduce reactive failures.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including field operations, engineering, data analysts, and energy specialists to deliver optimisation outcomes.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on asset performance and energy outcomes, ensuring benefits are tracked and realised.
What you'll need
- An energetic self-starter able to work on own initiative and work closely with a wide range of teams.
- Proven experience in project management within the water, or utility sectors is desirable.
- Strong understanding of telemetry, operational technologies, and wastewater services.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
- A collaborative mindset with a passion for problem-solving and innovation.
- Willingness to travel regionally for site visits and stakeholder engagement.
