What you'll do
The role involves assessments for deep-dig excavations to enable new structures to be built or allow modifications to existing structures. You'll be a focal point of contact with the construction, environmental and design teams, with a good mix of office and site work.

You will be helping to drive the function's development and provide support to project teams as well as other internal stakeholders.
What you'll need
Ideally, you'll have a BSc in geology, earth science and preferably an MSc in hydrogeology or comparable experience. You will be a chartered member of an appropriate professional institute, eg, Geol. Soc. or you will be actively working towards this.
You will have experience in quantitative and qualitative assessment of groundwater, with comparative site experience.
You will also need:
- knowledge of the ground investigations for large construction projects. Including knowledge of in-situ testing methodologies
- a good working knowledge of a range of software packages (AqteSolv, Aquifer Test or equivalent)
- good numeracy skills and good technical report writing skills and attention to detail
- to be confident and effective working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
- to be an excellent communicator with all levels of staff from director to site operative
- to be self-motivated and commercially aware
- to have excellent time management skills so that you can manage your own workload, including utilising consultant support where necessary
- a valid driving licence as you will be required to attend sites to provide reactive support around our region.
You will receive professional development support via our established mentoring scheme to enable you to take your career to the next level.
