We're looking for an organised and creative storyteller to help grow and manage our central Internal Communications team. 

You will lead on a range of internal communication activities, engaging with colleagues across the organisation to ensure they are communicated with effectively.  

You will also support our current business transformation focus throughout the group.  

What you'll do

In this role, you will: 

  • keep colleagues throughout the YTL UK Group up to date with important information, for a time, this will particularly focus on business transformation initiatives
  • deliver key messages, narratives and information in succinct and engaging ways
  • be an active participant supporting the business change team
  • research and identify opportunities for internal communication improvements so colleagues feel better informed
  • research and identify news stories across the company and ensure they are published in a way that makes them understandable and easy to read
  • provide advice to management level on internal communication matters and produce plans that can be implemented
  • manage the content schedule for the week, month and year, ensuring it aligns with relevant business objectives and performance commitments
  • lead on communications for the business transformation team to assist smooth transition and ensure colleagues feel suitably informed
  • deputise for the Group Head of Internal Communications when needed, and support Internal Communications Officer(s).   

There will be times when you will be expected to help in other areas of the department, including occasional events  (internal and external).  

What you'll need

In this varied role, we are looking for: 

  • excellent communication skills with experience either in media or corporate affairs (preferably with NCTJ, PR or equivalent qualification)
  • exceptional writing skills with the ability to write accurate, concise, sharp copy for a variety of audiences 
  • strong influencing skills and stakeholder management 
  • proofreading experience 
  • excellent communication skills and to be able to communicate with staff at all levels to research and source news items or content for customer literature 
  • meeting tight deadlines, working under pressure and turning around copy accurately and timely 
  • a good understanding of how media operate and dealing with media enquiries in a way that protects the reputation of the company 
  • experience dealing with crisis communications 
  • an ability to write strategic communications plans and manage content plans 
  • strong interpersonal skills 
  • basic analytical skills to interpret engagement levels 
  • experience using content management systems .
