Sewer Modelling Placement Student

What you'll do

Our specialist team of Modellers in YTL Construction UK's Sustainable Operations and Engineering department is responsible for the delivery of wastewater network projects across the Wessex Water region, with a particular focus on new development, reducing overflow operation and preventing flooding.

The post includes the following responsibilities:

• using INFOWORKS ICM catchment models to understand system performance
• analysing and presenting data using Excel, Coding tools (Python, Ruby, etc.) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
• commissioning surveys of YTLI sewerage assets
• developing outline solutions to resolve hydraulic problems, using both sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and more traditional ‘hard-engineering' approaches
• report writing and project presentation
• assisting with the upkeep of a substantial digital model library.

What you'll need

To be successful for this role, you will:

• be working towards a relevant degree with a geographical, science or mathematics focus
• have excellent IT and communication skills
• have experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs
• be comfortable working on your own or as part of a team
• be comfortable managing your time independently to ensure deadlines are met.

All other relevant training required will be provided.
