Join an innovative team undertaking various types of sewer asset surveying and utilising trenchless technologies to restore and rehabilitate sewers, which is a rapidly growing sector in the construction and civil engineering industry.

You'll be working on our sewerage networks, so you're going to come across everything people put down the sewers, learn how the wastewater network operates, the challenges it faces, and the different solutions utilised.

You will learn about the various methods and equipment used to provide sustainable solutions for wastewater network issues, using the very latest trenchless technology and equipment.

This is a technical role, so you'll receive on-the-job direction, training and guidance. You'll need to enjoy working with technology, while also not being afraid to get your hands dirty. This role can be at our Wellington/Taunton depot or Avonmouth/Bristol.

What you'll do

  • Cured in place pipe and repairs for sewer rehabilitation.
  • The rehabilitation of connections/junctions in the wastewater network.
  • Use robotics to reopen connections into rehabilitated sewers and remove obstructions.
  • Clean the network using high and ultra-high pressure water jetting.
  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Perform investigations, fault finding and solution selection.
  • Use electromechanical equipment, CCTV surveying and radio tracing.

This role is based outside and will require you to work in all weather and conditions.

It's also a busy role which will see you work on different jobs in different places throughout the week.

What you'll need

You will be working within a talented team, outdoors, dealing with different challenges every day. If you have previous experience doing a similar role and using trenchless technologies and techniques, this would be ideal.

However, to be a great fit in this role, we are looking for someone who has a great work ethic, is willing to learn and is dedicated to doing an excellent job. Previous experience working in an outdoor or practical manual handling role would be beneficial due to the nature of this position.

This is a regional role that will see you work across our waste network, but you will operate from the Wellington/Taunton area or Avonmouth/Bristol, so it is best suited to candidates living in the surrounding areas.

We are looking for someone with a positive and can-do attitude who is well-organised, customer-focused, and a great team player.

Due to the remote nature of the role, the successful candidate will need to hold a valid UK driving licence. If you hold a towing licence, this would be beneficial, but it is not essential as training can be provided.

You will need to be able to pass a confined space entry medical.

What you'll receive

  • A combined pension contribution of up to 20%
  • Career progression and professional development opportunities.
  • 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
  • The opportunity to buy up to ten days' holiday and sell up to five every year.
  • A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
  • Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
  • A new electric car in exchange for part of your gross salary, subject to conditions.
  • Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
  • One paid volunteering day each year.
  • Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
  • An interactive health and wellbeing platform.
  • Support from mental health first aiders.
  • A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone to work for us.
