Are you passionate about social media, content creation and digital storytelling? Do you enjoy spotting trends, creating engaging content and finding new ways to connect with audiences?

We're looking for a creative and driven Social Media Executive to join our growing in-house Corporate Affairs team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career while helping shape the social media presence of a diverse group of businesses operating across utilities, construction, renewable energy and business services.

As our organisations continue to grow and deliver ambitious projects across the South West, you'll play an important role in bringing our stories to life, increasing audience engagement and helping strengthen our reputation across multiple social media platforms.

This is a fast-paced role that offers hands-on experience creating content, supporting campaigns, managing online communities and using insight-driven recommendations to improve performance.

What You'll Do

As part of the Corporate Affairs team, you'll support the delivery of our social media strategy, creating engaging content that informs, educates and inspires our audiences while supporting wider business and communication objectives.

You'll be responsible for producing multimedia content across our social channels, with a particular focus on short-form video and mobile-first content that drives engagement and supports brand growth.

It's a fast-moving role, so you'll need to be agile, able to multi-task and prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines.

Other responsibilities include:

  • planning, creating and scheduling engaging social media content across multiple platforms, ensuring alignment with wider communication plans and business priorities
  • self-shooting and editing photography and video content across multiple formats to support campaign objectives
  • creating compelling short-form video content for platforms including TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • supporting community management by monitoring conversations, responding to audiences where appropriate and helping build meaningful relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • staying up to date with emerging social media trends, platform updates and content formats, identifying opportunities to enhance performance and engagement
  • developing and maintaining excellent relationships with teams across the business to uncover stories, promote key initiatives and communicate important business updates
  • briefing and collaborating with our other creative teams to develop graphics, photography requirements and other visual assets
  • monitoring channel performance and campaign results, producing regular reports and providing recommendations for continuous improvement
  • using analytics, audience insights and sentiment monitoring to help optimise content and support strategic decision-making
  • supporting the development and delivery of social media campaigns that increase brand awareness, engagement, reputation and website traffic
  • providing advice and guidance to colleagues across the business to ensure social content follows best practice and aligns with brand standards.

What You'll Need

We're looking for someone who combines creativity with curiosity, has a genuine passion for creating short-form video and enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-moving environment.

You'll be comfortable creating content from start to finish, have a strong understanding of what performs well across different platforms and be eager to learn, experiment and develop your skills.

Additionally, you will need;

  • to be educated to a degree or equivalent level, preferably in marketing, communications, or a related field – but we'd still love to hear from people with lots of experience who don't have the educational background
  • experience filming and editing content using mobile-first techniques
  • strong copywriting and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and platforms
  • a strong understanding of what makes engaging content on TikTok, Instagram Reels and other short-form video platforms
  • advanced knowledge of major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and X), including content trends, audience behaviours, platform insights and algorithms
  • experience in Canva, CapCut, native platform editing tools, as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • a proactive, creative and solutions-focused approach to work
  • a clean full driving licence; travel is an essential part of the role.

What you'll receive

  • A combined pension contribution of up to 20%.
  • Career progression and professional development opportunities.
  • 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
  • The opportunity to sell up to five days of holiday every year.
  • The opportunity to buy up to ten days of holiday each year (subject to conditions).
  • A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
  • Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
  • The opportunity to lease a new electric car through salary sacrifice (subject to conditions).
  • Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
  • One paid volunteering day each year.
  • Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
  • Access to an interactive health and wellbeing platform.
  • Support from trained mental health first aiders.
  • A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone who is successfully recruited by us.
