Across the UK, businesses are facing growing workforce challenges; skills shortages, shifting expectations and increasing pressure to build capability in the right way.

At YTL, we believe that how people perform, develop and progress is central to how we respond to those challenges.

We're reshaping how this works across the Group, creating clearer expectations, stronger development pathways and a more connected approach to talent. And we're looking for someone to lead that.

What you'll do

This isn't a traditional talent or L&D role. This is about designing and leading a system that works at scale - across a complex organisation - connecting performance, development, progression and experience into something coherent, meaningful and genuinely impactful.

In this role, you will:

  • lead the direction of Talent and Performance across YTL UK, shaping how we define, assess and develop capability for the future
  • own and embed the Group Performance Framework, ensuring it enables clear expectations, high-quality conversations and fair, evidence-based outcomes
  • design and evolve our talent development and employee experience approach, aligned to workforce priorities and long-term organisational capability
  • create clear, credible career pathways and internal mobility frameworks, helping people understand how to grow and progress
  • build and strengthen leadership and emerging talent pipelines, ensuring we are developing the capability we need for critical and future roles
  • use data and insight to drive performance and improvement, focusing on outcomes, not activity
  • connect the system end-to-end, aligning resourcing, development, progression and retention into a more joined-up experience
  • work in close partnership across Workforce Development, ensuring delivery is high-quality, consistent and aligned without duplicating accountabilities
  • act as a trusted partner to senior leaders, shaping thinking, influencing priorities and translating strategy into consistent practice across the group

You'll sit at the heart of our Workforce Development leadership team, helping to define how we build capability not just for today but for what comes next.

What you'll need

We're looking for someone who can operate confidently at a strategic level, while staying grounded in what actually works in practice.

You'll bring:

  • experience shaping and embedding organisation-wide talent, performance or development approaches
  • a strong understanding of performance frameworks, career pathways, leadership development and internal mobility
  • the ability to work across boundaries, influencing senior stakeholders and bringing people with you
  • a track record of designing systems and approaches, not just delivering programmes
  • confidence using data and insight to drive decisions, evaluate impact and improve outcomes
  • credibility, judgment and the ability to balance long-term direction with immediate priorities

Most importantly, you'll see the opportunity here and want to build something that genuinely works better for people and the business.

What you'll receive

  • A combined pension contribution of up to 20%.
  • Career progression and professional development opportunities.
  • 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
  • The opportunity to sell up to five days of holiday every year.
  • The opportunity to buy up to ten days of holiday each year (subject to conditions).
  • A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
  • Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
  • The opportunity to lease a new electric car through salary sacrifice (subject to conditions).
  • Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
  • One paid volunteering day each year.
  • Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
  • Access to an interactive health and wellbeing platform.
  • Support from trained mental health first aiders.
  • A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone who is successfully recruited by us.
