If so, we have the ideal role in our Asset Information Management (AIM) Team, part of Engineering and Asset Management as a Trainee Asset Information Technician.
What you'll do
As a Trainee Asset Information Technician at Wessex Water, your role will be varied as you undertake the creation, maintenance, support, and documentation of wastewater and water supply assets into corporate databases, both tabular and locational.
This will include:
- editing records in the system, which involves spending significant periods of time focusing on the screen whilst maintaining attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- entering tabular information/digitising whilst editing our live systems, as well as undertaking checks for completeness
- recording sources including Asset schedules, survey data, as laid drawings and occasional field-based verification
- editing our assets using data ranging from field data through to Engineering drawings.
- liaising with other staff, as required, to ensure data captured is of the required accuracy and quality
- on occasion, providing data extracts/reports to the business.
This is an office-based role in our Operations Centre, Bath or our Trowbridge Office at Kennet Way. During your 6-month probation, you will be expected to be office-based full-time, with your training being a mixture of face-to-face at one of our offices or online via Teams. However, once you are able to work independently, there are flexible working options are available up to a maximum of two days per week at home.
What you'll need
We are looking for a highly organised person who has excellent attention to detail, accuracy and can remain concentrated for prolonged periods.
You will be self-motivated, use your own initiative and successfully work under moderate supervision, as well as communicate confidently with other team members and colleagues throughout the company.
Experience in the following would be beneficial, but full training will be given:
- essential use of spreadsheet data, e.g. MS Excel and SQL query tools
- analytical skills for large data sets
- knowledge of Spatial data systems, e.g. ESRI ArcPro.
