Do you have experience managing large amounts of data? Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your skills in asset information? If so, we have a great opportunity to join our Asset Information Management team as a Trainee Asset Information Technician on a two-year fixed-term contract.
What you'll do
You will create, maintain and improve records for above-ground assets across our water supply and wastewater sites, primarily using Microsoft Dynamics and other Microsoft applications. This will include checking and updating asset records, entering information and reviewing data for accuracy and completeness.
You will spend significant periods working on screen, maintaining attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Sources of information will include engineering drawings, asset surveys and information supplied by field-based colleagues.
Daily tasks will include creating and updating asset records in Microsoft Dynamics, using Microsoft Excel to review and organise data, and accessing supporting information through applications such as SharePoint. You will also use reports to help identify missing, incomplete or inconsistent asset information.
You will liaise with colleagues to clarify asset information and ensure the data captured meets the required standards of accuracy and quality. You may also provide asset information and reports to support colleagues across the business.
This is an office-based role in our Operations Centre, Bath or our Trowbridge Office at Kennet Way. During your four-month probation, you will be expected to be office-based, predominantly at our Operations Centre in Bath, with your training mostly face-to-face at one of our offices. However, once you are able to work independently, there are flexible working options available up to a maximum of two days per week at home.
What you'll need
We are looking for a highly organised person who has excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
You will be self-motivated, use your own initiative, successfully work under moderate supervision, and communicate confidently with other team members and colleagues throughout the company.
Experience in the following would be beneficial but full training will be given:
- using Microsoft Dynamics to access, create or update records
- using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications, including SharePoint, to organise, check and manage information
Spatial awareness and the ability to interpret site layouts or engineering drawings would also be helpful when understanding where assets are located and how they relate to one another, but these are not essential.
What you'll receive
- A combined pension contribution of up to 20%.
- Career progression and professional development opportunities.
- 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
- The opportunity to sell up to five days of holiday every year.
- The opportunity to buy up to ten days of holiday each year (subject to conditions).
- A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
- Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
- The opportunity to lease a new electric car through salary sacrifice (subject to conditions).
- Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
- One paid volunteering day each year.
- Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
- Access to an interactive health and wellbeing platform.
- Support from trained mental health first aiders.
- A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone who is successfully recruited by us.
