Are you a customer-focused person and an effective communicator? Do you have exceptional organisation and time management skills? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Works Planner based in Kinson, Bournemouth.  

What  you'll do  

Our Sewer Renovation team organises and manages the repairs of our sewers, and we are looking for the right person to help us achieve our goal.  

Working in an office-based environment, you will:

  • deliver excellent customer service by ensuring that all key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance targets are achieved through effective scheduling
  • satisfy all customer needs by achieving target times and adhering to customer service standards
  • ensure that relevant field staff have been scheduled for a full day's work, which is planned and organised to obtain the best possible efficiencies
  • ensure incidents are compliant within the targets set to meet all KPIs to minimise unwanted calls and ensure transparency throughout our business
  • be a proactive scheduler to give site teams the best opportunity for a first-time visit and fix 
  • monitor the scheduling workload to reduce the backlog of out-of-date work and proactively manage jobs that are delayed through outside influence
  • avoid customer callbacks by proactively calling in response to our customers' expectations
  • mobilise and drive for efficient scheduling where required
  • demonstrate flexibility to schedule and plan to accommodate company direction
  • ensure that all jobs have the required information, highlighting gaps and driving for improvements where necessary
  • liaising regularly with councils and customers so you can relay information back to the business 
  • working self-sufficiently and as part of a team.  

You will receive on-the-job training and regular coaching and mentoring to ensure you are able to perform in your role self-sufficiently.  

What you'll need

You'll have excellent communication skills and be confident engaging with both customers and colleagues throughout the business, over the phone, face to face and via email with a positive attitude, an enthusiasm for learning new skills, and an eye for detail. 

You'll need to be able to adopt a methodical approach and prioritise your workload to ensure that you deliver an excellent service to all stakeholders. 

You will also need:  

  • strong written communication skills
  • be a confident communicator with a positive approach, with good computer literacy
  • experience working towards key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance targets 
  • an understanding of carriageways or highways (desirable but not essential) 
  • excellent organisation and time management skills  
  • a sound understanding of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Excel and SharePoint 
  • experience using Dynamics (highly beneficial but not essential).
