You will join the UK Procurement Hub and will work closely with YTL Construction (Infrastructure) to ensure the programme buying approach is successful and adds both supply chain resilience and commercial benefit.
What you'll do
Day to day, the role will involve:
- developing robust commercial agreements with our key AMP8 partners in a challenging investment cycle

- acting as a key conduit between suppliers and internal customers
- understanding the status of an order or contract for the programme and communicating consistently with stakeholders across multiple projects
- working with the category managers to monitor supplier performance for key spend areas and developing reporting opportunities.
You'll also:

- manage the ordering process for products across the programme and will communicate with internal teams, ensuring all are kept up to date with changes and delivery statuses
- liaise with the Finance team to ensure advanced payments and commitments are aligned with company guidelines
- implement new ideas and methods, and seek ways to both improve the team's contribution to the organisation's goals and enhance the reputation of the company.
What you'll need
You will have proven experience working as a Buyer in a similar role, ideally with a knowledge of key products required for construction within the capital delivery programme. Mechanical and electrical (M&E) experience is desirable.
You will have knowledge of the supply base within the water or similar sector. We're looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic individual with passion and determination to succeed.
You will have a collaborative, can-do attitude and a desire to work as part of a broad team of differing functions. Industry experience where a programme procurement approach is utilised is desirable.

In addition, you will:
