Are you a good problem solver who enjoys analysing data?
We have a great opportunity for a Data Analyst to join our Network Monitoring team in our Wastewater Sewerage department. The team is responsible for day-to-day monitoring and analysis of sewerage assets across our varied region.
What you'll do
Your role will be focused on the proactive monitoring, analysis, and interpretation of issues in the wastewater network. You will need to identify emerging problems from alerts and trend data, proposing actions before impacts to customers or the environment are seen.
As an industry leading company, we are committed to continuously improving our performance, moving towards a more efficient data led culture.
We are in the process of installing thousands of sewer level monitors across our sewerage network. The data from these monitors will be used to help reduce pollution risks, such as blockages, and improve our understanding of the network.
Responsibilities include:
- reviewing alerts from machine learning tools such as Stormharvester
- analysing trends to recognise problems in the network (e.g. sewer levels, flow and pressure trends, and digital signals)
- identifying solutions to developing issues in the network
- engaging with multiple cross functional teams.
Weekend cover will be required as part of this role.
What you'll need
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have excellent data analysis and interpretation skills, and/or sewerage operations experience. A good understanding of telemetry systems would also be beneficial.
Additionally, we are looking for:
- data science skills
- an analytical approach to problem identification and resolution
- excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- excellent IT/computer science skills
- self-motivated and able to prioritise/organise work
- experience in the water industry or a degree in engineering/science-based subject is also desirable.
Please include a cover letter alongside your application.
What you'll receive
- A combined pension contribution of up to 20%.
- Career progression and professional development opportunities.
- 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
- The opportunity to buy up to 10 days' holiday and sell up to five every year.
- A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
- Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
- A new electric car in exchange for part of your gross salary.
- Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
- One paid volunteering day each year.
- Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
- An interactive health and wellbeing platform.
- Support from mental health first aiders.
- A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone to work for us.
