We're excited to offer a newly created opportunity for an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Excellence Lead to join our team at Wessex Water. This is a pivotal role where you'll lead the development and rollout of our Asset Management Framework (AMF) across operational and site levels.

As a key change agent, you'll help shift mindsets and embed a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation as well as guiding teams through transformation and ensuring lasting impact.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be:

  • leading the development and implementation of our end-to-end Asset Management Framework in line with ISO 55001:2024 and the IAM 10-box model
  • driving operational excellence by standardising best practices and improving how we manage assets across the business
  • mentoring and supporting Portfolio and Regional Asset Management Leads, fostering collaboration and a unified approach
  • ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental standards while delivering value across the asset lifecycle
  • collaborating with data teams to align asset data collection with strategic needs and support the deployment of our Enterprise Asset Management Systems
  • leading the O&M Excellence Group, championing continuous improvement and capability building
  • developing and delivering training aligned with the AMF to upskill teams across the organisation
  • building strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, including Ofwat.

You'll also work closely with colleagues across Asset Management, Operations, GIS, Data Management, Technical Standards, and Process Safety, and lead a team of direct and indirect reports.

What you'll need

  • Significant experience in Asset Management at a senior level, ideally within the utilities sector (water, oil & gas, or alternative energy).
  • Proven ability to lead change, influence culture, and embed new ways of working.
  • A strong track record of delivering improvements and implementing asset management frameworks.
  • Experience working in operational environments, with a deep understanding of asset lifecycle management.
  • A degree-level qualification and an IAM Certificate or Diploma.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience in Microsoft Dynamics being a plus.
