Our Project Management Office (PMO) plays a pivotal role in ensuring efficient and effective project delivery across the business.
We are now looking for a skilled PMO Lead to join our team and support the governance, strategy and execution of our major projects across the AMP8 capital programme.
What you'll do
You'll be responsible for overseeing the PMO function, ensuring best practices in project and programme management, and enabling strategic alignment across the business.
You'll lead the PMO and Business Improvement team, ensuring strong governance and effective project delivery, whilst demonstrating your expertise to help drive operational efficiency, stakeholder collaboration and continuous improvement in project delivery.
Other duties will include:
- developing and implementing PMO frameworks, methodologies, and reporting structures
- providing strategic oversight on project, programme and portfolio management, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- supporting project and programme managers with guidance on project control processes, risk management, and performance tracking
- driving continuous improvement across project processes and standards
- acting as a key point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and reporting
- ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
What you'll need
You'll have strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven track record of supporting project and programme management in a structured PMO environment; ideally within utilities or infrastructure sectors.
You'll also have:
- extensive experience in a PMO or equivalent leadership role
- strong understanding of project management methodologies (eg, PRINCE2 and Agile)
- expertise in governance, reporting and risk management
- excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- the ability to drive process improvements and innovation
- relevant qualifications such as P3O, PMP or similar.
