An exciting opportunity has become available for a Process Engineer (with wastewater sector experience) to join YTL Construction (Infrastructure).

You will be working within the Process Engineering team to predominantly help deliver multi-million pound wastewater engineering projects.

What you'll do

The Process Engineering team forms an integral part of the larger design team, predominantly working within the field of wastewater and sludge treatment.

You'll be working alongside other engineering teams from all disciplines, helping to deliver multi-million-pound engineering projects that will have a positive impact on society and the environment.

You will:

  • provide process and technical knowledge in all aspects of wastewater treatment
  • collect and analyse a variety of site data
  • develop complex wastewater process models to understand and evaluate existing and future site performance
  • undertake and deliver specific investigations and appraisals to identify best value engineering solutions, while considering risk and value, whole life costs and carbon emissions
  • identify and explain a range of process options to meet a required output
  • develop process specifications for suppliers and consultants and assist with tender reviews where necessary
  • develop process flow diagrams
  • provide innovative solutions within the confines of cost-incentivised workstreams
  • review technical reports, P&IDs and control philosophies
  • provide detailed process engineering input into the project function from optioneering through to commissioning
  • attend design review meetings to confidently explain process design solutions and respond appropriately to any challenges or risk concerns that might arise
  • provide process guidance and support, where required, to ensure design standards, specifications, and standard drawings are fit for purpose.

What you'll need

You'll ideally have been working in a wastewater process engineering or operational role where you have a track record of providing quality process outputs.

It is expected that you can confidently demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills, along with good verbal and written communication.

You'll also:

  • have a degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline
  • have or be working towards a chartered professional status of an appropriate institution
  • have relevant experience with a wide range of wastewater processes and operation practices
  • have strong communication skills, with the ability to work within a team
  • have a willingness to take ownership of projects and seek team participation to achieve the best solution
  • have the ability to identify problems through data analysis and enable the development of evidence-based conclusions and recommendations.

This role is based at our head office in Bath and, due to the nature of the work undertaken, will require a minimum of three days per week on site.

What you'll receive

  • A combined pension contribution of up to 20%.
  • Career progression and professional development opportunities.
  • 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
  • The opportunity to buy up to ten days' holiday and sell up to five every year.
  • A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
  • Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
  • A new electric car in exchange for part of your gross salary, subject to conditions.
  • Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
  • One paid volunteering day each year.
  • Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
  • An interactive health and wellbeing platform.
  • Support from mental health first aiders.
  • A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone to work for us.
