Are you looking for an exciting new challenge? Do you have proven experience as a Project Manager on Major Infrastructure, with an engineering-related Degree? If so, we have a great opportunity for you to join our team as a Project Manager, responsible for the delivery of the Mendip Quarries (MQ) Strategic Resource Option (SRO).
You will be working for West Country Water and Environment on behalf of Wessex Water (employer) and South West Water.
The role will be based in Bath with hybrid working arrangements considered for all.
What you'll do
You will be responsible for project managing the delivery of the Mendip Quarries SRO, including planning permission. MQ will be a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) and will require a Development Consent Order.
As a Project Manager, you will:
- work with Framework Partners already embedded delivering the Gate 3 Solution (RAPID) for the Mendips Quarries SRO
- maintain control of multiple, complex and evolving multi-disciplinary elements within the Mendip Quarries SRO along the various stages of delivery
- build and maintain working relationships with commercial partners, stakeholders and third-party organisations throughout the project delivery process, whilst maintaining commercial control
- ensure effective and efficient resource management
- lead on contract negotiations to deliver best value
- enable improved project solutions leading to cost reductions
- undertake project reviews and audits to promote ongoing quality and procedural improvements.
What you'll need
You will be an experienced Project Manager, with expertise in managing the delivery of multidisciplinary major infrastructure engineering projects, within the water industry.
In addition, you will:
- be educated to a degree level (preferably Chartered) in a related discipline or equivalent experience/professionally qualified
- have a working knowledge of health and safety and CDM regulations
- significant infrastructure project delivery experience is a must – with 5 years of demonstrable experience
- have excellent knowledge of the water industry
- experience of delivering projects via DCO (essential)
- have an understanding of the new procurement process DPC
- have a good understanding of Water Resource Planning within the Water Industry
- have good planning and organisational skills with effective decision-making
- have the ability to present confidently to non-industry people
- have the ability to organise yourself, individuals and teams, motivating all towards achieving the successful completion of projects.
