Quantity Surveyor

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to provide expert commercial support and guidance for the successful delivery of our flagship 20,000-capacity indoor arena.  

Once home to every UK-built Concorde, the Brabazon Hangars are being repurposed into a brand-new venue for Bristol and set to be the South West's top destination for music, comedy, sports, and entertainment.

What you'll do

You'll monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to ensure budgets are adhered to whilst administering change management and change controls on projects.

You'll be actively collaborating with the Projects team, Designers, Contractors, and Client to ensure accurate pricing and timely completion of projects.

Other duties will include:

• maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects
• providing regular reports on the financial status of projects to stakeholders and senior management
• procurement of supply chain including contract negotiations
• management of all commercial aspects of subcontractor accounts, including negotiation of variations, processing payment applications, contract administration, and agreement of final account
• preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, plant, and overheads.

As this position will require travel, a full UK driving licence is required. 

What you'll need

For this role, you'll have:

• quantity surveying experience in the construction industry, preferably with the use of the JCT and NEC Suite of Contracts
• completed a degree in quantity surveying or a similar qualification
• membership of the RICS/ICES is also desirable but not essential
• experience with change and risk management, as well as tender and final account negotiation
• have good people skills, including leadership skills and the ability to form professional relationships with others
• good computer skills and a sound knowledge of health and safety related to the role.
