Senior Project Quantity Surveyor

As the Senior Project Quantity Surveyor, you will head up the site-based commercial team on a landmark development at the YTL Brabazon site in Filton.

You will ensure the project is delivered in line with business objectives, maintaining rigorous commercial control and compliance with company processes.

What you'll do

Your core responsibilities will include both pre-construction and construction, as well as general commercial management, and will consist of:

• office, multi-storey, and retail-based projects
• preparation of subcontract tender documentation and detailed scopes of work
• engaging and assessing supply chain partners for capability and delivery
• leading tender analysis, interviews, and reporting
• developing project risk registers and exploring value engineering opportunities
• monitoring design and procurement progress in collaboration with project managers and planners
• producing monthly cost updates and commercial reports
• communicating subcontract terms and managing commercial impacts of changes
• providing contractual guidance and resolving claims
• ensuring compliance with commercial procedures and maintaining accurate forecasts
• managing relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and the wider delivery team
• leading valuation of variations and interim payments
• owning and updating monthly CVRs and commercial reports
• leading and mentoring project-based Quantity Surveyors and Assistants
• promoting robust commercial processes and a positive team culture
• supporting safety culture and contributing to departmental growth.

What You'll Need

• BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• extensive experience in contract and commercial management, in particular JCT and NEC
• proven success leading major projects of over £30million with Tier 1 contractors
• prior experience of working on office and multi-storey construction projects
• proven experience of working in an integrated project team
• strong knowledge of construction contracts and techniques
• familiarity with the Bristol / Southwest supply chain
• experience managing commercial teams and subcontractor relationships
• skilled in dispute resolution, cost analysis, and project correspondence
• excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
