This placement will last for a period of 12 months from July, August or September 2025 (to be agreed upon with the successful applicant). 

What you'll do

As part of YTL Construction, our specialist team of modellers in the Sustainable Operations and Engineering department is responsible for the delivery of wastewater network projects across the Wessex Water region with a particular focus on new development, reducing overflow operations and preventing flooding.

You will:

• use INFOWORKS ICM catchment models to understand system performance
• analyse and present data using Excel, Coding tools (Python, Ruby, etc) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
• perform commissioning surveys of sewerage assets
• develop outline solutions to resolve hydraulic problems, using both sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and more traditional ‘hard-engineering' approaches
• carry out report writing and project presentation
• assist with the upkeep of a substantial digital model library.

What you'll need

To be considered you will:

• be working towards a relevant degree
• have excellent IT and communication skills
• have experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs
• be comfortable working on your own or as part of a team
• be comfortable managing your time to ensure deadlines are met.
