Do you work in developing IT Systems Architecture? Have you got experience in Enterprise, Data or Systems Architecture? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our IT Department as an IT Systems Architect!

What you'll do

As the IT Systems Architect you will work within our large, forward-thinking IT Department. You will assist the Systems Architecture Manager and wider Business Transformation team in building the technological roadmap for the business, as well as working on major business systems projects. We are looking for an innovative like-minded individual to join our team.

You will provide guidance on the development or modifications to IT solutions. You will need to consider approved architectures, strategies and standards while ensuring existing components remain compatible.

Day to day you will work with other Technical Architects and Domain Leads to establish and maintain agreed standards, patterns and designs applicable to the work undertaken and ensure they are adhered to. You will liaise with key stakeholders to understand the business capability needs with a focus on cross organisation capabilities. You will also use technical skills and experience to produce architectural designs.

What you'll need

The ideal candidate will be a customer focused individual with business awareness who has excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. This role will require someone who understands complex IT systems and how they support business services and operations and is confident managing several projects at once.

We are also looking for someone with experience of:

  • the system design and architecture of multi-system applications
  • working in one or more architectural domains with responsibility for system or sub-system design and integration
  • system design and development methodologies.

You should understand and have experience using (but not restricted to):

  • Microsoft technologies and platforms, including Dynamics, Azure and SQL Server
  • Infrastructure Technologies (Compute, Network and Storage)
  • Application Lifecycle Management
  • Logical and Physical Data Modelling
  • ISO 27001 – Information Security Standard.

Ideally, you will also have:

  • a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • knowledge of architecture best practice methodologies with experience using modelling tools.
