Construction Engineering Technician apprentice

About the team
Our Engineering and Sustainable Delivery team is responsible for the delivery of the asset management programme, including updating existing and constructing new water and sewage treatment and pipeline projects.
To maintain and improve our services we are continuously updating existing treatment works, upgrading and laying new pipe networks and constructing new reservoirs.
Previous technician apprentices have gone on to work in our small schemes team, utilities rehabilitation, planning and civil engineering.
What you'll do
You will be involved in our construction projects and, with support, learn how to run sites from planning, to construction, to handing over the finished project.
You will:
- carry out site labouring and later construction site supervision and project management
- understand the importance of safety in all aspects of projects
- contribute to civil, electrical and mechanical designs for projects
- plan to reduce environmental impacts and manage quality systems
- be given early responsibility for construction projects
- study contract and commercial processes.

Where you'll work
As the role is regional you will be expected to work anywhere within our region from Bristol to Bournemouth and Salisbury to Taunton.

Duration
- Three years plus end point assessment.
Qualifications you'll gain
- Construction Design and Build Technician Level 4 Apprenticeship.
- Level 4 HNC in Construction and the Built Environment.
- ICE Eng Tech status with the Institute of Civil Engineers.
Training provision
- Training will be delivered by Weston College.
- One day per week at college.
