Distribution Inspector (DI) Apprentice

About the team
This is a customer-facing role, where you will be working to ensure there are no interruptions to our customers’ water supply and if a customer reports an issue, your job will be to identify and solve the problem as quickly as possible.
You will be responsible for inspecting the water supply network in your area and organising maintenance and repair programmes to minimise interruptions to customers’ supplies.
Working with an experienced Distribution Inspector, you will learn about day-to-day activities such as checking reservoirs, calibrating monitors and using our data interfaces to record data and valve locations.
By completing an advanced apprenticeship in water treatment engineering, you will gain an insight into wastewater and water supply within the operations business.

Where you'll work
You will be required to travel to different locations. A company vehicle will be supplied to you when you are ready to work independently.

Duration
- Three years plus end point assessment.
Qualifications you'll gain
- Water Industry Network Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship.
- CABWI Level 3 in Water Engineering (Distribution).
Training provision
- Training will be delivered by the YTL Wessex Academy.
- Monthly workshops and one-to-one days with your skills coach.
- Training will be delivered on site with qualified Wessex Water instructors.
- Weston College will deliver a short training course as part of this apprenticeship.
- Maths and English will be delivered online.
