Culture, inclusion and diversity

We want everyone to feel a sense of belonging and have the opportunity to succeed with us, regardless of background, age, gender, ethnicity or any other personal characteristic.

We aim to be a truly diverse company by:

  • celebrating diversity and encouraging inclusion
  • enabling everyone to take ownership and accountability through empowerment
  • acting on the views, ideas and concerns of our people
  • rejecting any form of discrimination or bias
  • reflecting the diversity of the communities we serve.

How we create an inclusive workplace

  • Our Executive Leadership Team delivers positive change with each member sponsoring a key focus area, including gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual preference and social mobility.

  • Our CID working group is made up of volunteers from across our businesses, and they work together to drive forward initiatives that benefit everyone.

  • Our networking groups help create a real sense of belonging by connecting people in similar circumstances so that they can support one another.

  • Our leaders are provided with training to improve their awareness of different types of diversity, which helps us develop a more inclusive culture.

  • Our people are encouraged to help create a healthy work environment that is free from judgment.

Our initiatives and memberships

We run a number of internal initiatives and groups that are managed by our people, for our people.

This includes support groups for LGBTQ+ employees, working parents, and those affected by menopause, a disability, or their mental or physical health.

Through a range of memberships, we aim to ensure everyone who interacts with us is treated fairly, from applicants to experienced employees.

We are a Disability Confident Employer, have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, and support The Women's Work Lab and Autism at Work programme.

We also work with a range of other partners to ensure we provide equal opportunities for all.
