Alarm Rationalisation Technician (Scheme Liaison)

We are looking to grow the Alarm Rationalisation Team here at Wessex Water and are prioritising working to improve the alarm estate. The team produces standards, critically examining current working practices, and reviews nuisance alarms.

What you'll do

We are looking for someone to join the team and focus on those alarms which are entering the system from new schemes going on throughout the business. This role will operate as a point of contact between any schemes, big and small, to ensure that the right alarms are entering the system to benefit all.   

We're looking for someone with a great eye for detail, who has strong critical thinking abilities and good stakeholder management skills.   

What you'll need

In this exciting role, we are looking for: 

• excellent communication/negotiation skills with colleagues and technical specialists 
• a high level of organisational skills and the ability to manage your own projects, workload, and deadlines 
• good IT skills 
• the ability to work independently to learn and understand new processes and systems quickly 
• good attention to detail and pattern spotting  
• the ability to present and challenge standard working practices  
• experience working adjacent to engineering schemes and reading URSs  
• great critical thinking skills. 

It would be beneficial if you have:   

• experience with alarms and PRSIM 
• a good understanding of the supply and waste water networks 
• experience writing standards or process guidance documents  
• a driving licence.
