Are you looking for a career in construction as a Technician Apprentice with the prospect of developing into a Project Engineer? If so, we have a great opportunity to join our friendly, supportive and award-winning Sewer Rehabilitation team as a Civil Engineering Technician Apprentice.

What you'll do

  • Manage sewer rehabilitation schemes from start to completion under project engineer supervision.
  • CCTV survey analysis to identify the lowest-cost solutions.
  • Work closely with our contractors and internal teams.
  • Plan and deliver schemes on time and on budget.
  • Financial monitoring and monthly report to the programme manager and QS.
  • Site meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comply with Construction Design Management 2015.

You will work at our Kingston Seymour office with the flexibility to work from home sometimes. You must be open to working from other offices with regular travel around various sites within our region, such as Yeovil and Bath.

What you'll need

  • GCSE Mathematics and English at grade C/4
  • A levels or equivalent
  • To be a confident communicator with a can-do attitude
  • A flexible and positive approach to work activities
  • Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word), as well as Adobe Acrobat. Training will be provided for other systems
  • A valid UK driving licence as there will be regular travel around various sites within our region.

Apprenticeship Course Information

The apprenticeship standard that will be completed is Civil Engineering Technician Level 4, which has a typical duration of 36 months and finishes with an end-point assessment with The Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE).

The contract of employment for completing this apprenticeship will last for the entire duration of the apprenticeship and end point assessment period.

Depending on the department, availability of roles and success upon completing the apprenticeship, you could be offered a permanent role with us.
