You will be responsible for developing a strategy for delivering the commissioning of AMP8 capital schemes, on internal and X12 contracts, and developing a mechanism to work with external D&B contractors.
What you'll do
You will work alongside our ‘Delivery' function where you will proactively develop a commissioning strategy for externally delivered schemes, and work with internal Project Management teams to ensure the Commissioning Team are meeting the needs of the business.

- providing support and developing training to mitigate the risk of pollution events during commissioning.
- ensuring the training supplied to the team is relevant.
- liaising with stakeholders from both Wessex Water and YTL Construction (Infrastructure).
- providing an overview of all projects within the commissioning stage.
- developing standard procedures, and continuous improvement of existing processes.
- working with our capital delivery partners, including both construction and consultants.
You will have the senior members of the team reporting directly to you, with around 20 other indirect reports. These include staff engineers, graduates technicians through to senior and principal engineers along with agency technician and engineers.
It is predicted that the team will grow by up to 50% in the next 3 years to meet the demands of the AMP8 programme.

Management, collaboration (both internal and external) and influencing skills are an essential part of this role, particularly positively changing cultural mindset.
You will have robust experience of the commissioning process as applicable to the UK water sector, an understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes, and proven management skills of leading a diverse team of remote working individuals.
