About the apprenticeship

Due to our continued growth delivering the exciting Brabazon Project at the old Filton Airfield development, we are looking to recruit a highly motivated, skilled and detail-oriented individual to join the commercial team within the major projects part of the business, initially, to be part of the purpose-built 1,514-bed student accommodation project team.

You will be assisting and monitoring site management activities, conducting analysis and reviews to provide input into plans, processes, and procedures, contributing to the improvement, completion and delivery of projects. 

What you'll do

You will be involved in a variety of tasks and will obtain essential skills, knowledge and experiences with:

  • supporting site management and external resources, working closely with internal teams (Technical Services, Planning, Commercial, Design)
  • assisting with sequencing, methodology, and production of project plans, ensuring alignment with the fit-out tracker matrix
  • monitoring progress, supply chain resources, and delivery schedules to maintain project timelines
  • ensuring quality control through inspections, testing, and adherence to agreed benchmarks
  • promoting a health and safety culture, ensuring compliance and contributing to safety improvement initiatives
  • managing risks to avoid delays and disputes and facilitating communication across teams to meet project goals
  • overseeing logistics and site tidiness, and submitting weekly reports on health and safety, quality and progress
  • supporting the commercial function to deliver best value outcomes while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and contractors.

Where you'll work

This role is based at Filton Airfield Bristol, where you will be part of an energetic and busy team operating on a regular shift pattern during the working week. 

What you'll need

You will need:

  • GCSEs A-C/4+ in English and maths
  • completed a Level 4 Construction Technician Standard, Technician Status, HNC in Construction or the equivalent qualification with the industry's recognised professional bodies. This prior qualification reduces the duration of your degree to three years
  • excellent communication skills
  • the ability to build working relationships quickly at all levels
  • good computer literacy.

Apprenticeship Course Information

Duration 

Three years plus end point assessment.
 
Qualifications 

  • Construction Site Management Degree Apprenticeship Level 6.
  • BSc(Hons) Construction Project Management degree.
  • Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
  • Training provision.
  • Training will be delivered by University of West of England – Bristol. 
  • Day release. 
  • In person lectures. 
  • Online learning.
